“Nothing hurts more than being disappointed by the single person you thought would never hurt you.”

I know a lot of people say that, or how the person you love the most is the person that you hate the most too since they’re the reason for the majority of your tears or pain.

Well, duh.

How can you possibly expect a person you love to not hurt you? The only reason that pain ever exists is because naturally, you subconsciously set up certain expectations for a person that you’re so close to. When those little standards aren’t met, it hurts. Like if you have a significant other to talk to every day and then he/she doesn’t speak to you for a few days, you’re hurt because you developed a comfort for talking to him/her, and create this expectation that they’d always be there to have a conversation. If instead it was a person you couldn’t care less about or had no emotional attachment to, you couldn’t care less if a person stopped replying to your text message or you stopped conversing with them for weeks.

In other words, the only reason “the single person you thought would never hurt you” hurts you, is because that person is so special. You care about that individual’s opinions and how he/she views you. You care if his/her feelings stay mutual. You care if that person walks away from you. But if it was anyone else who did those things, you wouldn’t give a damn. Can’t get hurt by someone you’re not emotionally attached to.
